The architecture of Mifare Classic or Plus is user-centric and can be applied into multiple application scenarios, all enveloped within one single card.

  • Users are also advised to stop the xPortal Services before shutting down the Server PC to prevent any missing transaction issues.

Step 1: Go to xPortal3000 Client > Control Panel > System Properties.

Step 2: The System Properties window will be shown. Click Modify and go to Mifare Card Options tab.

Step 3: The Edit System Properties Window will be shown. At the Read Mode field, click the drop-down dialog box and select "By Block" to read the Mifare sector blocks.

Step 4: Under the Read / Write Options (Mifare Classic Only) section, ensure that the Programming Mode field is defined to be "Read Only". Next, system users have to define the Block No, Card No Length, and Start Location in Block to read the card ID stored in the Mifare card.

Step 5: System users can now enter the Read Key in Hex format and define the Read Key Type (whether key A or key B as Read Key). These details must be provided by the end-user or programmed card supplier. Click OK to save the changes.

Note

  • The maximum available Block No is defined by the memory size of the Mifare Classic card. E.g.: Mifare 1K - 64 blocks; while Mifare 4k – 256 block.
  • The "Card No Length" and "Start Location in Block" MUST be the same as "Card No Length" and "Start Location in Block" settings in General Tab.



Step 7: The following message window will then be shown to indicate that the Record is Updated. Click OK to continue.

  • To verify and read Mifare Sector Card ID number:

Step 1: Place the card to be read on the OMNIKEY card reader.


Step 2:Go to Mifare Card Programing and select Read Card.

Step 3: The software will read the card ID from Mifare card sector and the information of the card will be shown as below.

Only /wiki/spaces/SRN/pages/94241521and above is able to support HID OMNIKEY 5421 / 5422 reader.
