How to configure AntiPassback settings for single door controller in xPortal3000 software

Description:

A guide to configure AntiPassback settings for single-door controller in xPortal3000 software.

When enabled, AntiPassback prevents a card user from gaining two successive accesses in the same direction without gaining access in the opposite direction first. AntiPassback therefore prevents double entry or exit access through a door or area for the same card access.

Cause:

For first time configuration on AntiPassback settings for single door controller in xPortal3000 software.

Solution:

Warning!

  • Users are not recommended to run any xPortal software in Windows XP operating system as the system is unstable

  • Users are also advised to stop the xPortal Services before shutting down the Server PC to prevent any missing transaction issues.

Step-by-step Guide:

  • To enable the AntiPassback feature in Controller Setup:

Step 1: Go to xPortal3000 Client > Hardware > Controller.

Step 2: Select the specific controller(s) to enable AntiPassback feature in Controller Setup window and click Modify. The Edit Controller window will be shown as below.

Step 3: Under General Settings tab, for the AntiPassback Function Enable field, click on the drop-down dialog box and select Yes. Click OK to save the changes.

Step 4: The software will then prompt the following message window to indicate that the Record is updated. Click OK to continue.

Step 5: The Delivery Report window will then be shown. Wait for the send door setting process to complete before clicking Close to continue.

  • To configure Zone Code in Door Setup:

Step 1: Go to xPortal3000 Client > Hardware > Door.

Step 2: Select the specific door to configure zone code in Door Setup window and click Modify to continue. The Edit Door window will be shown.

Step 3: Under the Advanced Settings tab, configure the AntiPassback Entry & Exit Zone Code and click OK to save the changes.

Note

Entry & Exit Zone Code cannot be the same value. System users can configure such that same spaces can have the same zone code, while different spaces have different zone codes. When a user enters from one space to the other using a door, the zone code will be updated to reflect the space that the user is in.




Step 4: The following message window will be shown to indicate that the Record is updated. Click OK to continue.

Step 5: The Delivery Report window will then be shown. Wait for the send door setting process to complete before clicking Close to continue.

  • To configure AntiPassback settings in Staff Records:

Step 1: Go to xPortal3000 Client > Staff Record.


Step 2: The Staff Detail Setup window will be shown. Select the card user intended to enable the AntiPassback feature and click Modify.

Step 3: The Edit Staff Detail window will be shown. Under the General Info tab, in the AntiPassback Enabled field, click the drop-down dialog box and select Yes to enable Antipassback feature. Click OK to save the changes.

Note

  • xPortal3000 software by default enables the AntiPassback feature to all card users.
  • Software allows system users to disable AntiPassback feature by selective card user through this configuration in Staff Record. (This feature is only applicable to M-Series Controllers and the latest models of GT/GTR controllers only)




Step 4: The following message window will be shown to indicate that the Record is updated. Click OK to continue.

  • To verify that the AntiPassback feature is enabled:

Step 1: Use a test card to flash on the Entry and Exit Readers. Ensure that the Latest Event List recorded the Valid Entry / Exit Access transactions.

Step 2: Using the same card, flash on the Entry Reader more than twice. Ensure that the Latest Event List records one Valid Entry Access transaction and followed by continuous AntiPB Violation transaction logs.

  • To clear AntiPassback status for the card user:

Step 1: Go to xPortal3000 Client > Device Comm > Send Card Setting.

Step 2: The Send Card Settings window will be shown. Select the Controller and card holder whose AntiPassback status is to be cleared and click Clear Anti PB.

Step 3: The Delivery Report window will then be shown. Wait for the send clear antiPB process to complete before clicking Close to continue.

Step 4: Flash the card on Entry Reader again and verify that the user should be able to access the door. The Latest Event List in xPortal3000 software should record a Valid Entry Access or Valid Exit Access transactions.
