Problem (Issue) Statement:How to troubleshoot the issue where the double leaf door configuration is not released or only 1 door is released

This article will guide users on how to troubleshoot the issue where the double leaf door configuration is not released or only 1 door is released.

Symptom and Finding:
  • Symptom 1: Only 1 door is opened after "Valid Entry Access" or after users pressed the push button
  • Symptom 2: Both doors not opened after "Valid Entry Access" or after users pressed the push button
Cause:
  • For Symptom 1: Only one EM Lock is connected to the MAS-RBU
  • For Symptom 2: 
     a. Incorrect wiring connection from MAS-RBU to EM Lock
     b. Incorrect wiring connection from MAS-RBU to push button
     c. Reader / MAS-RBU is not producing power

  • Users are not recommended to run any xPortal software in Windows XP operating system as the system is unstable

  • Users are also advised to stop the xPortal Services before shutting down the Server PC to prevent any missing transaction issues.

Step-by-step Guide:

  • Troubleshooting Symptom 1 where only 1 door is opened:

Step 1: Please check and ensure that the wiring connection to the MAS-RBU is correct as per the following wiring diagram:

  • Troubleshooting Symptom 2 where both doors not opened:

Step 1: Please check and ensure that the wiring connection to the MAS-RBU is correct as per the following wiring diagram:

Step 2: Please also check that the wiring between the MAS-RBU and the controller unit is correct as per the wiring diagram below:

Step 3: Users are also advised to check and confirm the wiring connection from the reader to the controller.
