Problem (Issue) Statement:How to reset the standalone keypad reader to factory default setting (ColdStart)
Description:Users failed to perform Coldstart.

Symptom and Finding:

Users failed to coldstart the reader. The reader's memory does not clear even after the coldstart operation has been completed.

Cause:The reader may not be functioning properly
Solution:

  • To perform ColdStart operation.

  • To send the controller in for repairs.

Step-by-step Guide:

  • To perform ColdStart operation:

Step 1: Switch off the power supply to the standalone reader.


Step 2: Upon switching on the standalone reader, it will enter into a power up mode, where the red LED will be blinking for 10 seconds.


Step 3: To perform the coldstart operation, press the exit button for 2 seconds.


Step 4: The standalone reader should be reset to factory default setting. If it does not, proceed to section 2 below.



  • To send the controller in for repairs:

Step 1: If users still failed to perform the coldstart operation, users are advised to send the standalone reader to MicroEngine Service Center for repairs.
