Why the XP-SNET-E32R extension board is unable to show UP status after sending door setting to XP-SNET controller for Lift Masking Application

Description:

Why the XP-SNET-E32R extension board is unable to show UP status after completing software configuration and sending all door settings to XP-SNET controller?

Symptom and Finding:

After checking software configuration and re-sending all door settings to XP-SNET controllers again, xPortalNet Client > Device List > Alarm Controller List still showed XP-SNET-E32R extension board for Blk A Lift 1 is "Down" status.

Cause:

After logging in to Web Diagnostic of XP-SNET to check the System Information, it is discovered that DIPs Setting value is set as "00". (XP-SNET controller is configured as Door Controller)

The XP-SNET controller will not send fire alarm signal over to the connected XP-SNET-E32R and/or XP-SNET-E248 extension boards if the configuration settings for the XP-SNET controller is not completed.

Complete the configuration settings for XP-SNET controller in order for XP-SNET-E32R and/or XP-SNET-E248 to respond accordingly to fire alarm signals.

Step-by-step Guide:

  • To set XP-SNET controller as Lift Controller:

Step 1: Go to Lift Motor Room and open the XP-SNET enclosure cover.


Step 2: Configure the DIP switch 1 under SETTING to "ON" to assign the controller as Lift Controller.

Step 3: Ensure that LED D77 on controller board remained ON.

Step 4: Press RESET button for the changes to take effect.


Step 5: Login to the web diagnostic again to verify that the DIPs SETTING on System Information changed to "08" for Lift Controller Mode.

Step 6: Go to xPortalNet Client > Device List > Alarm Controller List. The XP-SNET-E32R extension board for Blk A Lift 1 will be shown as UP status.

Tip

If the LED D77 is turned off after setting the DIP switch 1 under SETTING, and the DIPs Setting of Web Diagnostic is still indicating the value of "00", the XP-SNET controller board might be faulty.
