Problem (Issue) Statement: | Why is the XP-GTR1200's buzzer still beeping as if Door Forced Open or Door Left Open status occurred even though door is closed? |
Description: | The XP-GTR1200 has been operating on site for a few years. Recently the GTR controller keep triggering buzzer beep sounds even though the physical door is closed. |

System Application: | - Door Access System (Under standalone mode)
|
Symptom and Finding: | The GTR controller kept triggering buzzer beep sounds even though the door is closed. The controller LCD screen did not show any messages and remained in idle mode.
When users flashed valid access card on the controller, the LCD screen showed "Valid Entry" message, but users were unable to open the door as the electromagnetic lock only released the door lock for less than 1 second (by observing the LED indicator of the EM lock).
To troubleshoot the issue, bypass (by using a jumper connection) the door sensor terminals and observe for a few days to see if the symptom re-occurs. If the symptom stops, the cause is eliminated to be a faulty door sensor. |
Cause: | It is caused by the weakening of the magnetic field of door sensor or door contact.
This caused the door sensor or door contact to sometimes fail to sense that the door is already closed and triggers the controller to think that the door is forced open or left open. |
Solution: | Summary: - To replace the door contact or door sensor.
Step-by-step Guide:
- To replace the door contact or door sensor:
Step 1: Replace a new door contact or door sensor. Step 2: To run several basic function tests as follows:
