Problem (Issue) Statement:

How to connect Fire Alarm signal to XP-SNETv2 or XP-SNETv4 controller

Description:

A guide to connect fire alarm signal to XP-SNETv2 / XP-SNETv4 controller.

Symptom and Finding:

NIL

Cause:

For first time connection for fire alarm signal to XP-SNETv2 / XP-SNETv4 controller.

Solution:

Warning!

The XP-SNET controller will not send fire alarm signal over to the connected XP-SNET-E32R and/or XP-SNET-E248 extension boards if the configuration settings for the XP-SNET controller is not completed.

Complete the configuration settings for XP-SNET controller in order for XP-SNET-E32R and/or XP-SNET-E248 to respond accordingly to fire alarm signals.

Step 1: Please refer to the wiring diagram: XP-SNETv2 / XP-SNETv4 controller to Fire Alarm signal connection.

Note

  • For normal operations, fire alarm termination requires Normally Closed (NC) dry contact on XP-SNETv2 and XP-SNETv4 controllers to deactivate fire alarm mode.
  • To trigger the fire alarm, the fire alarm panel needs to send a Normally Opened (NO) dry contact to XP-SNETv2 / XP-SNETv4 controllers via the Fire Alarm terminals.
